WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur L. Ross, Jr., today announced that the Department’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $1.5 million grant to the city of Stilwell, Oklahoma, to provide critical wastewater treatment improvements to bolster manufacturing in the region. According to grantee estimates, the project is expected to create 100 jobs, retain 15 jobs, and spur $6.5 million in private investment.

“The Trump Administration is committed to not only retaining jobs in this country, but also to creating new opportunities through infrastructure improvements,” said Secretary Ross. “I look forward to seeing how Stilwell’s improved water system will help businesses grow and thrive.”

The upgraded system will support the expansion of a local food manufacturing company. It will also provide increased capacity to attract new manufacturing and other businesses.
